L’inattendu se révèle là où le regard s’attarde.

I have been photographing for more than twenty-five years, driven by travel, discovery and the pleasure of looking. More than forty countries visited, training at the New York Institute of Photography, and images published notably by GEO have accompanied this practice and, little by little, transformed the way I see.

Travel is not the subject. It feeds the eye and inspiration, but it also puts them to the test: finding, in places that have often already been seen and photographed, an image worth looking at, with personality and originality.

I am less interested in what a place immediately shows than in what can emerge when the gaze lingers. A deep shadow, a vivid colour, a geometry, a presence, a detail or the unexpected meeting of several elements can shift the perception of an otherwise ordinary scene.

It is in these moments that I best recognize my way of photographing: observe, anticipate, construct, then leave room for chance. A silhouette crosses the frame, a light appears, two forms answer one another and the image takes a direction I had not entirely foreseen.

Beauty and spectacle may be there, but I am looking for something beyond their immediate effect: an image that carries my eye and my personality.

This search is never made at the expense of what surrounds me. I remain deeply attached to respecting the places I travel through, natural environments, and the people who live in them or happen to be around me. No photograph justifies disturbing, damaging or imposing oneself. The image matters, but the way it is obtained matters just as much.

Ultimately, what connects my photographs is neither the place, nor the subject, nor even the technique, but the way the world arranges itself under my gaze.

This is where the contrasts that feed my stories are born.
